About
Dr. Brian Novy, FACD, FADI, FICD
Wow, that's a lot of letters. What do they all mean?

Dr. Novy holds faculty appointments at three dental schools and treats patients in his private practice in Salem, Massachusetts. He served on the ADA Council of Scientific Affairs from 2011-2014 and serves as president of the National CAMBRA Coalition. After graduating with honors from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, he was offered a faculty appointment teaching dental materials and became an early ADA Evidence Based Dentistry Champion, developing courses in cariology and evidence-based dentistry. He relocated to the DentaQuest Institute in New England and accepted a faculty appointment at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in the department of Oral Health Policy and Epidemiology. He is course director for cariology at Virginia Commonwealth University and is thrilled to be part of a groundbreaking effort to create a new dental school in Pikeville, Kentucky. His determination to bring about salivary driven value based oral health care has taken him around the world sharing his Offensive Dentistry theories and techniques.

Dr. Novy acts as your Consumer Representative to the US Food and Drug Administration Dental Products Panel (so feel free to reach out). His awards include the ADA Adult Preventive Care Practice of the year, the American Academy of General Dentistry Weclew Award, the ADA Evidence Based Clinical Practice Award, and the California Dental Association Dugoni Award. Affectionately referred to as "The tenth dentist" because of his unique adaptation of evidence, he's honored to hold Fellowships in the most prestigious organizations in dentistry, such as the American College of Dentists (FACD), the Academy of Dentistry International (FADI), and the International College of Dentists (FICD).

This image captures what I love about clinical dentistry: One of my patients, who's an artist (and a dentist's daughter), gave me her sculpture titled "Healing Hands". I get to spend time with amazing people like this patient, and my talented assistant Megan, who took this photo. #happydentist
