Your undergraduate scientific training provides you with the very basics of microbiology, chemistry, physiology, organic chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, and physics of dental caries. Your first year in dental school will be spent learning how those courses are applied to clinical sciences such as immunology, neurology, histology, pathology, embryology, anatomy, pharmacology, and of course cariology (the study of dental caries). When you truly understand the etiology of dental caries, you are able to make a huge impact on another person's life... and you have the potential to prevent pain and suffering.
By enrolling in DNES 705, you will have the unique opportunity to study alongside dental students and practicing dental professionals. It will not be the easiest class you ever take. However, if you successfully complete the course, you will receive a letter from Dr. Nový that can be added to any professional program application. You can share your letter with the admissions office of any dental school if you want to provide evidence of your academic ability. You will have nine months to complete the course and you may work at your own pace.
The cost of the course is $500 and financial aid is available to select students. Click on the "Sign Up" link at the bottom of the page to begin the enrollment process. Course enrollment is very limited.
